Clay Wachholz
Lakeshore Symphonic Band is pleased to announce our new musical Director, Mr. Clay Wachholz. Mr. Wachholz is Director of Bands at Cedarburg High School and has held the position of Director of Bands at the International School of Brussels in Belgium, and Director of Bands at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park in Canton, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan. Traveling extensively he has given educational clinics in England, Holland, Belgium, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Summer Music Clinic where he led concert and jazz bands.
In addition to directing, he has had more than 25 years experience as a trombone and euphonium performer. Groups he has performed with are: the Wisconsin Tuba Quartet, the American Wind Symphony, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Racine Symphony Orchestra, Kenosha Symphony Orchestra, Madison Brass, Madison Jazz Orchestra, Milwaukee Brass Band, Knightwind Ensemble, Kettle Moraine Symphony Orchestra and several freelance groups. He also performed with the Thunderbolts, Pioneer, and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and went on to teach the Madison Scouts and the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
